Cheaters, but not liars.

Thought I'd do a quick update. I'm unwinding a little at Starbucks, and checked my quiet friends list, and realized that I have been posting a lot of non-Betsy written stuff lately. Always something I find worthy, but nothing about my life. Things are calm. Certainly not boring, but very calm.

I don't think I'd be able to even listen to that. That's a horrible thing to do to another person. I've never really experienced it myself, thank heaven, but I believe very strongly in a code of honor about this sort of thing.

It disgusts me to know that some people don't take a solemn vow that seriously. If you don't know you can keep up your end of the bargain, then don't take the vow! It's as simple as that. Obviously these men don't think very highly of the ones they've got at home if they have to get their jollies elsewhere.

OK, if I don't stop now, I'll continue this tirade for an hour and a half, and don't even let me start on the "Marry Someone" reality TV shows! It's like marriage isn't held as the sacred institution it's supposed to be, and that's just sad.

I used to bartend, and I can't tell you how many people, both men and women I saw on a regular basis cheating. And, worse still most of them made a point to come to me, slip me extra tip money and make some comment about keeping my mouth shut. I never did rat any of them out, but still...it was utterly disgusting to me. Not so much the fact that they were with other people, but just how sneaky they were about it. I'm an honest person, and when my husband and I had problems, I'm the one who called him on it and asked him to move out. When I met someone, I told him about it ( ... )
