hey Andy... I realize it's probably weird for me to be randomly showing up on your journal again (I'm the one who has all of those CTTB files that we were discussing months ago), but I must say something. Steve sent me files from the two newest mixes of Do You Live and Still Alive that you helped him with and they are seriously infuckingsane. I was telling him how Still Alive was pretty much the only song that he and Dan have recorded that I never cared for, but now that you've helped add the guitars, the ending is incredible... it gave that song a tenfold increase on... awesomeness (for lack of a much better word, hah.) I'm happy that you're working some with them again (well, Steve more than Dan right now, I guess), but I'm glad nonetheless - as if my approval makes a difference in anyone's life, lol. But yeah, I just wanted to tell you that I think that what you and Steve did to those songs is absolutely a huge improvement (with Still Alive moreso than Do You Live because I've always loved the latter no matter what is or is not

lol, ok.. first off.. I'm so pumped that you said meat and potatoes. I'm having a lot of fun just jamming on their songs. They said they have a hard time making a song "rock" and I was like "well if you're ever interested, I'll offer my take on the songs." Usually I just play along to stuff and steve will just stop me in the middle of it and be like WE HAVE TO RECORD THIS NOW! It's proving to be really fun thus far. I really want to work on "Cell" "Nebulous Emperion Part I" and some other songs. We're working on a live song together too that's super Mogwai/Godspeed/Hum/Muse-ish if that makes any sense. Where do you live by the way? If you're anywhere on the East Coast, my band See You Next Tuesday (myspace.com/seeyounexttuesday) will be touring the east coast in May. If you like metal, go check it out, come to a show and say hi. I'm going to add you to my friends right now too. =)
haha, yes, I know that they have been wanting to make some of their songs rock more than they currently are... boy do I know. I used to be so anal about their acoustic songs... they'd record some rough demo and I'd fall in love with it (Settle Down is the best example) and then they'd add bass and an electric to it and I'd be like, "NOOOO... what did you DO TO MY SONG???" It was really terrible, lol, but I've gotten over it and am now a lot more open to their experimentation... I'm not biased or anything, though ;) I can't wait to hear what you and Steve do with a new mix of Cell. The first time I burned that and listened to it in the car, I told Steve it sounded like it would be an awesome song to use to open a show; at which point he informed me that it was the opening song on their album, so that was pretty rad. Steve blows my mind every time he tells me he has a new mix that he wants me to hear because he's just so talented. That live song sounds really awesome, too, because I love all of those bands that you mentioned. (I've

That's definately close to a novel. But yes, pretty much everything you said was accurate. The Hum show was simply amazing and I finally downloaded the video of it. The audio is terrible and the video quality isn't much better but it's good enough to jog my memory. I have no idea what songs we're going to work on anymore. I think we're just going to dig through dans back catlogue of material and go from there. We were jamming out to some song last night and it's starting to sound pretty cool. -a
