You don't have to explain yourself to anyone about relationships or why you choose to not be one one. After all it is you that has to live in one. And if your heart, mind and soul are not up to it. Don't try to make it work to appease anyone outside of a relationship. Its a private thing. Keep your privacy and respect his. Explaining things usually turns to reflect bad on everyone when a relationship ends.
