I did that too when I started my new job. My first week I was signed up for a self-paced computer tutorial to brush up on Excel. I thought I knew Excel pretty well, so I dived right into the Expert level tutorial. Once I realized that I was sorely mistaken about my own abilities, I quietly switched back to the beginner's level. Thank goodness it was self-paced though; it was a teensy bit embarrassing.
