I saw that ad earlier in the week and I almost fell outta my chair laughing. I thought it was a riot. Oddly, that's the way a lot of Maritimers (myself included) think of Newfoundland...

The sad part its the "exaggerated" accent he uses. They ( from Bonavista ) dont sound quite like that, and the majority of the west coast of the island speaks with much the same accent as Novascotians, Cape Breton, and some form NewBrunswick. ( mostly only with a slight irish or scottish accent. )
Its a stereotypical thing.
