Is it possible that our technology to hold off child birth till later in life is causing us to over-develope our sexuality in place of parenthood?

Maybe. I think it's a fair trade, though -- I know which of the two I prefer.

If the result is over-developed sexuality, then wouldn't the change take place in those using the technology? Which is the population NOT reproducing, so would that stop the adaptation from taking place in the first place? It's kinda like that villager that tells you which direction the Liar's Village is in.

In a strictly evolutionary sense, not reproducing prevents genetic traits from being carried on to the next generation. However, cultural practices are passed on through language and example. My original question was intended to be in context of an individuals personal development over time.
