[ Hashirama is happy to be here. He is in the one place he had always wanted to be, and not up a stage preaching politics and scamming the masses like his forefathers had done. He was a teacher, which was a much nobler profession than politics. ]
[ The man stands in front of one of the windows in the classroom assigned to him, peering out through

What about conflict?
Reply
Are you familiar with Karl Marx?
[ Although he signed up to teach History, he was very much aware that he would end up teaching a good deal of sociology and philosophy along with it. They were, after all, interrelated. ]
The Conflict Theory is attributed to him.
[ Hashirama finally moves from his spot and makes his way to the desk in front of Neji's. Leaning against the edge of it, he continues: ]
Marx posited that there would always be conflict, a struggle, between socioeconomic classes. He also seemed to encourage this conflict. It was a good thing, apparently, this friction between classes.
[ Have a smile, Neji~ ]
What do you think? Would you agree with him?

I am familiar with him and the conflict theory, yes. I believe it is foolish and insipid to idealize a world in which there is no conflict. There will always be struggles between people, whether they be of different socioeconomic classes as you just stated or not. It is the way of man. Do I think it is a good thing? Well, it does establish pecking order, absolutely...
I think whether it is good or not is up to the interpretation of the individual of which you are asking the question. And my opinion of it is rather mixed. I can see where it has its benefits, but there are also negatives, as well.

Mmm. It is foolish to idealize a world without conflict.
[ Gets off the table and walks over to the board, writing down the word communism underneath CONFLICT and draws a connecting line between them. ] Communism used a lot of the ideals from Marxism in the beginning, aiming to establish a stateless, classless society. A society without conflict. Utopia.
Now, what's wrong with this picture? [ He circles the word 'communism' ] Where did they go wrong? If you could try and elaborate with a few examples in history...?

[ The only clue he had was the stack of books that had the library seal on them. Moving aside most of the heavier textbooks, he picks up one copy - which turned out to be an extra cop of a book that was already there - and gingerly walks over to the pot of Amaryllis he kept near the window of his classroom. ]
[ He selects a pretty one out of the lot and puts it inside cover of the book.
[ You'll find Hashirama standing outside the library in five minutes. He's here to return the book, and return the gesture~ ]

Hello! [smiles] Welcome to the school.

Good morning.
[ He takes long strides towards her, and stretches out his hand for a handshake, smiling still. ]
Hashirama, the new History teacher.

Terumi Mei, the new Math teacher here. [smiles] You may call me Mei, if you'd like.

Mei. [ He nods approvingly, not only appreciating the firm handshake but also the lady - she seemed cool. ]
Ah, you must be quite the clever one. [ Chuckles ] I never was good with numbers. Things were fine until I got to advanced trigonometry and everything about the binomial theorem to just proving cosine 2-pi theta something plus 2 was equal to tan theta something minus half =____=;; I couldn't figure it out when it got so abstract...

[He is just so darned nice!]

[ And yes, he thinks so too, Obito :3 He thinks everyone around here is really nice, and he sure is happy to be here~ ]

Theres a lot of conflict in history.[He points out, and hopes that they will be focussing on something interesting. Like the subtle conflict of Roman politics. Or an ancient war between Greece and Persia.
Samurai could be fun too. Sasuke sort of likes history, so he hopes the teacher is good. :>]

[ He walks up to the board and writes, next to the word CONFLICT, the following phrase: "Vive la revolution" ]
Sounds familiar? [ He smiles, sitting on the edge of the desk in front of Sasuke. ] It's all over t'shirts and posters today. But when was the phrase first coined..?
