Ok, I have to say something, and since I can't yell at customers or just scream in frustration at work I'll rant here. I have two huge pet peves when I'm on register. 1. When people walk up to cash out and they keep talking on their cell phone. It's like hey, take two seconds tell whoever it is that your checking out, communicate with me, say

You just described the top 2 reasons why I never want to work in retail again. EVER. I also love when they assume that you're a high school (or college!) dropout and that this was the only job you could get without a degree. Heaven forbid you should be working retail to pay for college or even just have a little extra spending money.

The cell phone thing is also a huge peeve of mine. I think some stores even have a rule that they won't ring you out if you're on your cell phone.

With those kind of people you just have to overly-nice to the point that you want to throw up... even if they don't show it, they feel like an asshole later for being so mean to you.
