Ha. It would be more insane to throw away your very promising career in chip design. If the time comes that you're sick of EE and want to make a career change *and* the company has funding, then start working for your Dad & brother. :P And with the way the company is run, you wouldn't even have to move to OC!
I think I only pointed out the not being in love thing 'cuz you had lamented it at some point. If you didn't care, neither would I. :)
None of the relationships you talk about giving up were all that serious anyway. A fulfilling career would obviously trump them. Still, I think some people are fundamentally more prone to being satisfied with life, regardless of the decisions they make. We all have choices, and happiness can come from making the best of a situation regardless of "the right choice." Is there really such a thing anyway?

I guess I was getting at the fact that were I to be put in a similar situation now, three years after starting at my company, around that time that everyone told me I'd be sick of it and I'd regret my decisions, I'm pretty sure I would still make the same choice.
I love my friends and I enjoy other relationships. But as you say, my career still trumps it all.
