torchwood has felt a bit lacklustre for me as well. I get the occasional fangirl flail...but...hush, it almost feels a tad mediocre now and then. Like season 1 was brilliant because some of it was so cracktastic. But it's almost like season 2 is playing it safe a bit. I want my torchwood EXTREME back.
Absolutely! Even though I picked holes in the plots and everything else in season 1, I enjoyed it a lot more than this one. I almost feel as if last season was so completely mad because they (the writers) had no idea where it was going. This year it feels like there is a plan but, as a result, the spontaneity has gone. The first episode with Captain John and Gwen's wedding/pregnancy are the only times that it has been really bonkers!
I've enjoyed Torchwood more this season - I think that's because Torchwood EXTREME (as referred to above!) didn't tick the boxes for me because I found the humour questionable. Like, the wackier episodes this season, the Captain John one and Gwen's wedding, I liked the least because the humour in them was not to my taste. I found TW season 1 a bit hit and miss, but TW2 seems to be more consistant. Not entirely happy with how the characters are being managed, though.
