Yeah, this is pretty awesome, and I'm really happy about it. I think it will be good for America. However, I tend to control expressions of my excitement in order to avoid making certain folks too self-satisfied. I heard a democratic pundit say that Obama was responsible for making America "Democratic" (capital "D"). I actually suspect that the Democrats in Congress will have their hands full. I think they will be faced with a very popular president who is "one of them," but who is going to ask them to engage with and, God forbid, *cooperate* with those icky Republicans, some of whom are rumored to eat baby humans just for fun. They can do this or disagree with *their own* very popular president. I speculate that, though Obama certainly coincides with the Democratic positions on most issues, he actually cares (politically) first about his constituency, us, and second (or less), about the success or dominance of any political party.
