To some extent, he was glad Tidus had only inherited a few of his father's traits, those being the least annoying. But this Al-Bhed more than made up for the rest.
"Oh... kiss my boots!" she said in frustration, and it was a very odd thing to say considering the situation.
Later, when he needed a sphere from her and she was still sulking over not sharing his sake, he remembered how he dealt with overly talkative and somewhat annoying people.
She was much lighter than he expected, and did make quite a satisfying thud after he shook her out and let go of her ankle.
"What was THAT for?!"
He smirked. "Kiss my boots."

"You stay here while I'm gone," he'd said; "This won't take long. Here, amuse yourself." He'd snapped the orbs from his rod casually and tossed them into the uneven sea of paper on his desk. One had rolled onto the floor, three underneath the wicker contraption labeled "Inbox", and one was resting on top of an empty notebook.
She could feel the orb. It was staring at her. Mocking her.
Rydia huffed and turned the chair around. She wasn't going to touch them. Reno wasn't her boss, and even if she was scarily dependent on him in this new world, he didn't get to tell her what to do. It was more than a little embarrassing, Auron thought to himself. He was, physically, the strongest of their group. He was also the oldest and most experienced. This wound should not have happened. It wouldn't have been so bad, except that he was not used to having his wounds healed the old-fashioned way.
After, all, with Yuna god-knows-where and no one else having any knowledge of White Magic (at least, none that healed) and having run out of Potions, they were stuck with Rikku's clumsy bandaging in between battles. She was the best of them at it, of course, but that didn't mean she was actually any good.
He'd tried to insist that he'd be fine, it was only a scrape, but Rikku had dug her heels in and refused to take another step until Auron let her take care of it as best she could. Auron had at last agreed, telling the others to gone on ahead ( ... )
