"Quistis? You kinda ... lookin' different, babe. You lost some weight recently? New glasses?"
The Not-Quistis looked around in an obvious and rather blatantly shifty manner before grabbing Irvine by his saddlehorn. She pulled him into a sloppy kiss. Irvine flailed like a well-endowed windmill for several seconds before she let him back up for air.
"Shut up and let's do this thing already, cowboy. I ain't got all day, you know."

She's learned that the lights twinkling over her head are NOT lanterns of an unknown variety (and she will not forget the way one of the cadets laughed at her when she kept trying to blow the library lamp out), she's learned that the small machine next to her bed will beep incessantly at her if she tells it when she needs to wake up in the morning, and she's learned that Quistis Trepe is far too involved in trying to keep up her professional image among her peers.
There's really only one that she can do anything about, and she vows that she will change something in the strange new world she found herself lost in ( ... )

“Come here, darling, and Mama will make it better,” Terra took a wet cloth and knelt down to meet the little girl.
Terra lost her magic after the battle with Kefka. She could not longer whisper, “Cure,” and the bloody scratch would disappear. Still, Terra knew a “trick” that made every boo-boo better in a blink.
After wiping away the blood, Terra kissed the top of the knee, making a loud puckering sound for emphasis.
“Feel better?” Terra wiped away the girl’s tears from her cheek with her thumb, and gave her a gentle smile.
“Yeah,” the little girl nodded, and the tears instantly dried. It’s the oldest magic in the world-a mama’s love.
