Fandom: taking back Valentine's Day since 2008!

So last year bottle-of-shine had a Kissing Battle. The last edition is here (EDITED TO ADD: this is the old battle, not the current one!). It was a lot of fun and might be known around FF-fandom circles as the best Meme ever**.

Okay, so, many of my favourite couples have already been requested, but here are my additions to the squeeing barrel of fantastic monkeyful love!

FFVI: Celes/Leo
FFVIII: Quistis/Xu, Xu/Nida, Quistis/Angelo (ROFL, please don't make this gross, I have a weak spot for Quistis + fluffy animals is all, Quistis/Bobo/Zell
FFIX: Beatrix/Steiner, Beatrix/Garnet
FFX: Lulu/Chappu
FFXII: Fran/Balthier

Okay, so, any of the FFVi, VIII and IX ones would totally make my day ^^.

Angelo had changed since Rinoa had gone into a coma. The dog was subdued, sad and cried sometimes when he caught a whiff of his mistress on the wind, pitiful and dismal and hurting for the girl. Quistis found it was hard to watch, and even more so because she didn't know how to comfort Angelo. She understood that he would only come back to life when Rinoa did ( ... )

YOU HAVE MADE MY DAY BY REQUESTING THIS, I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW.

She does nothing by halves; never has she been one to back down from a battle, nor to mince words. It is for this reason he finds her nervousness surprising, to see the way she fidgets for long minutes before she lunges forward to kiss him quickly on the cheek and dance back.

For all that he has thought of this, has wanted it, still it causes a pang of sadness in his heart, to see what is left of her innocence fall away like chaff from the wheat.

He is gentle when he kisses her back.

Okay, so my nearest rendering of the noise that this made me make is HEENYAAAAAAAAAW. Which, typed, looks like a donkey being bludgened with a hammer, but in reality is an expression of ubercuteness ^^.

I particularly love the last line ^^. Quistis is so the kind of person who is a little intimidated by cute animals but also likes a good cuddle, at least in my eyes.

Heheh, yes, as I was reading through I was like "0o...that's a lot of unconcious Rinoa." It all works, though :D.

"You better come back," Quistis shouts, fighting to be heard over the raging wind and the whump of the helicopter blades. Xu tilts her head, and Quistis repeats the declaration, because the last thing she needs is her only friend in this Garden to die, even if it is just the field test, even if there is an entire platoon of SeeDs to fix whatever goes wrong.

Xu gives her the thumbs up, and has the nerve to blow her a kiss before leaping out into open air. It takes all of Quistis' strength of will to not watch Xu fall.

"Next!" the SeeD in charge shouts, and Quistis steps forward to have her rigging checked. The "go ahead" is ripped away from her ear by the wind, but the pressure at her back is not, and she jumps.
