It seems to me that the city is either sadistic or naive to the fact that not all pasts are pleasant.

[Joshua is sharing those sentiments, and there isn't much of a teasing or amused tone in his voice. He's doing his best to ignore what he sees or at least keep it from affecting him as much as it does.]

I suppose this is their idea of putting a twist on that old story. Honestly, I do believe they want us to always sleep with one eye open at this point.

[ Everything about this post, from it being unfiltered to Naoya's tone of voice, triggers Atsuro's uneasiness as quickly and easily as a child flicking a light switch on and off and on again. Not that he would refuse his request even without the above in mind. However, aside from the lack of filters, his main concern remains the addition that he keep his cousin, his best friend out of this. Could he really keep him from investigating this? Because there was no way Toshi would leave this along if he found it. He just wouldn't.

But Naoya has his reasons for everything, no matter how off he seems at the time, so he decided to comply with the entirety of his request. For now. ]
