Y'know...

Reading the last bit of that fic I just recommended, a thought seeds in my head. Wouldn't it be painfully ironic to have an Ana/Sayid ship? Hey, it's happened in movies before. So what if her bullet met his girlfriend. Opposites attract! :P ( Read more... )

I've just stumbled onto your lj by accident (or, rather, by gravityeyecons - hey, does the name of the comm come from the song "Gravity Eyelids"?) and gasped: hey, I suppport Ana/Sayid! Hell, I write Ana/Sayid! And very few people understand me in my madness. But they fit, you know? They both have anger management problems and the scriptwriters just hinted at the delightful darkness lurking beneath their relations. And the tonnes of angst!

Mm, nope, never heard of the song. The name was going to be Gravity Icons, but the name was taken, lol. Eyecons works in a weird way...:P

Yay, I'm not alone! :D Ana/Sayid does fit! They're sort of parallel characters, and it would just be too awesomely ironic if they'd built some kind of personal relationship, considering what happened. They're both anti-heros, different sides of the same coin. If that's not character-study fodder, I don't know what is! :-D

I'm just disappointed the writers didn't take advantage of that.

Uhm, sorry. It's just that it reminded me of that Porcupine Tree song. ;)

Writing Ana/Sayid is very difficult and the result would always be kind of... dark and that is probably why the writers didn't go in for it. If Lost would be a HBO-run show, then maybe... but not on ABC, as far as I'm concerned. But I'd so gladly see that on screen - they make excellent partners (the good cop-bad cop scene, squee!)

Would you mind if I added you?

Hm. I never thought of it as dark. Though looking at it in a different way, I see what you mean. It is hard to write that kind of emotional conflict. Probably why I've never tried. :-/ But in the right hands...magic.

Sure! Added you back. :)
