Okay, so I finally have stopped moving long enough to jot down some stories from our trip. There are many, and hopefully I will get them all written out before they fade into memory. In no particular order (let's seen how far I get):
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. 04/10/08
Stuck in traffic near Harrisburg for two hours, over the course of which we traveled 20 miles. Called Elise to ask her what kind of effed-up rush hour Pennsylvania has. Were stuck next to a truck labeled "RADIOACTIVE" for a while, which prompted Mo to comment, "Darn, I really wanted children." Finally passed a point where both lanes of traffic were being forced onto the shoulder to get around a semi which had blown up. The cab was laying on its side near the tractor in a mess of mangled metal, as if it had said something about Godzilla's mama. There was fire damage on the tractor where the cab was supposed to be, and the trailer was split open along the bottom. Boxes were spewing out onto the road like a tauntaun's intestines. I hope the trucker was okay. After the bottleneck traffic sped up nicely, but there was all this stuff in the road. At first we thought it was debris from the accident, then we thought it was leaves (except that all the trees were barely even budding). Then we passed a truck hauling cages of live chickens. The debris were feathers that were getting blown off at 60+mph.
Memphis, Tennessee. 04/12/08
Went to a restaurant called Rendezvous with Mo and my cousin Andrew. The guys went to the bathroom and I stayed at the table, looking at the decor. It was in the vein of TGIFriday's or Applebee's, the walls littered with nostalgia and tchotchkes, except a little racier. Like the painting of the naked woman, or the...wait, those can't be what I think they are. I mean, I don't know a lot about horses, so maybe it's part of a bridle or something? I pointed the mystery objects out to the guys, and finally we asked the waiter.
