How many musical/musical movie soundtracks do you own, and what are your top ten favorites? Disney doesn't count. La! I'm ever so glad you asked. Though I think Disney should count. :p
No soundtracks owned, and about 14 of those movies watched (if LOTR counts as 3!). Given my particular circumstances, I think I vote Pinnochio top. I have a little boy, and I want so very much for him to be real. Gepetto's love for him is so very near to my heart.
Bladerunner - the hype should be about unicorns. Watch for the dream one and the model one, and think it through. The book (Do androids dream of electric sheep) is entertaining and original, but having read it, many years after I saw the film, I am the more convinced that to get from that book to that film is nothing short of a work of genius. The thing I find so tragic about Bladerunner is that the only appealing characters are the androids. They alone are human; they alone can be sympathised with. Confused? Consider the unicorns.
I've never seen it through, as far as I can remember.
I tend to take AI rather personally as a subject, as it was part of my Masters Degree (in a small way). My definition of AI would be a caps lock key that could operate itself intelligently. ;)
Rashomon isn't on the list??? And why Olympia and not Triumph of the Will?
I have Kandahar if you want to see it...bought it out of Hong Kong in VCD format for very small dollars...Very unusual movie. You will feel the need for a long, hot bath after all that time spent in hot, dusty places.
Thanks. As I do every time one of these lists comes out, I feel obligated to watch all of the movies on the list just in case. I would actually love to hear your top 100.
I think Rashomon is the one I might have seen but can't remember.
Ah, good. You have been suitably educated by proxy. :)
I'm still searching for that old record of Cricket. "And Remember One Thing!" "Do you like cheddar cheese or manganzola?" I would love to hear those again.

Neat! What did you study?
Hm. I'm happy with my non-intelligent caps lock key.
