Fun! Although it looks like it might take me approximately forever (it could be friends with the plastic-bag-yarn crochet project and the perpetual cross-stitch...)
Any suggestions on how to make rag-strip/t-shirt yarn that is not full of bulky knots?
Choose a seamless t-shirt. Cut the hem off. then, cut on a slant to start the "yarn" until you get a strip that is one inch wide. I use a small metal ruler to measure the inch wide and aim my scissors at the place the ruler points to (with the ruler about 3 inches ahead of the scissors). As you cut the t shirt up, every time you get a yard of so of yarn, pull it from both long ends, and the fabric will curl up into a very yarn shape. When you get to the sleeves, you are done and should have a softball size yarn ball
