Hmm.

Reading a lot of dolly debate threads in DoA makes me depressed. It is the same reason why I cannot seem to get into this community fully. I am starting to realize that I am different from most. I like BJDs because they are pretty. I like the hobby even more because of the chance to buy beautiful clothing you can never find in real life. The chance ( Read more... )

Hi! I found you on ManikaManila's Community in the Customs post >.<

Saw that you were from Cebu and checked out your journal...

I'm a future doll owner (I'm still saving up money for my first doll) and I haven't read some of the posts in DoA ('cause I read in BJD confessions that DoA is a scary place). I stumbled upon BJD confessions and the posts there made me feel depress and scared of DoA.

I agree with you about the dolls being pretty and wanting to dress them up. I feel that way too when I view dolls from various shops.

I, too, am obsessing over this dolls and I hope that buying a doll might cure me of this obsession, worst case scenario is I might become more obsess.

I hope we can be friends :D

Oh!! Hello. Thank you for visiting my journal. ^^ Hehhe. good luck on getting your first doll! The first one is always the hardest/longest to get I have to say. :D And not just getting the money but also the wait is soooo hard if it is a preorder doll. ^^ Longest 1.5 months of my life! XD Imagine my excitement when I finally got the shipping notice.

:) Don't worry. Just take your time and enjoy the moments of getting your first bjd! It is really a nice experience. I will be in this hobby for 5 years now this coming December and sometimes I wonder where the time went and how things have changed.

You're welcome :D Thank you. I think so too, it's really hard to choose a doll that you really want from among the diff sculpt and sizes. I had to ask help from my mom on who to choose (I need to choose a doll she also likes because I need her to back me up when I tell dad about my BJD. The doll I'm planning on buying takes 50-60 days to make o.0 I think that when I order my doll I might get weird negative thoughts.

Thanks for the tip ! I'm planning on dressing him up in various costume and taking pictures of him.

Ooh, you've been a BJD owner for 5 years O.O Congratulations! I hope I and my doll can last that long too. Hmmm, I hope things changed for the better for you. :)

Oh yes. It is. > < I have had many dolls gone through my hands already (bought and sold, then repeat process). It took me 4 years to know what i wanted basically. =/ So it's been a long time since I have bought my first doll. She did not stay with me long as I didn't like the poseability and among other things. Anyway, it is a learning process. Researching is really the key and being patient.

Haha. Don't worry. If it is from a reputable company it should be fine. Mind letting me know what you are thinking of getting? :)

I really suggest going to Den of Angels, at least to read up on every company you can while you are still saving up and try to get reference pics of every single BJD you are interested in. XD It should be there.

WOAH! That's a lot, the doll owners here in the Philippines (that I know of) don't own that much, must be good to have a lot of money XD ( ... )

hahaha. it is easier for people living in the western countries to buy the dolls because if they earn much more than usual, they can at least buy a doll every 2.5 months if they are diligent in saving. :p so being in the hobby for 3 years let's say can get them 14 dolls already ( ... )

Yes, I kind of envy them ('cause they can buy LE dolls T.T) They can buy a lot of dolls within a short period of time whilst us here in Asian countries has to save more money T.T

I've been telling her about BJDs for quite a while now, but she's like bleh at first, but after seeing Diva and Starr on FQ 2 she changed, she began liking them C:

I plan on buying clothes for the smaller ones! Kinda impossible for me to make clothes for tinies ><

Oh, I know that Iplehouse BJDs has problems in posing when wearing pants, but I haven't read about other posing problems yet, I might do my research again XD I like MSDs too, 'cause they have a lot of clothing available for them XD I noticed you like Japanese companies (Unoa and Volks XD)

Ooh, thanks, I'll look through it. Yeah, they have a lot, 'cause majority of their doll releases are LE (I think).

I'm not really fond of the makeup done by the company >.< I've been eyeing propertyoftheuchiha's works and thinking of sending the doll to her if I end up messing my doll's faceup ( ... )

Haha, they still have to save but if they have good jobs then it takes much less time of course. :)

Oh! It definitely helps to see them in real. Glad your mom changed her mind when she saw them~ They are really works of art.

Hahaha. I haven't heard of many complaints about their poseability at all so im guessing theyre pretty good. :) Well, I like Korean & Japanese companies but I felt just having 1 brand is just better for me cos its all consistent in size and they can share clothing between them. ^^ Iplehouse is one of the companies I never tried yet. Also Supia.. I been wanting a Supia Dreaming Roda & Hael since forever but again, I always end up reselling them cos they dont really have much choices in clothing. > < So I always find myself going to volks as everything fits them. If I was not so into clothing I would have not cared about just having 1 brand. XD

PotU is quite good. :D We are lucky to have someone talented right in the Philippines! XD Other countries aren't so lucky unfortunately! >< haha
