Summary Kagome digs through their old garbage dump
Kagome thought that they put Old Fort Boise behind them when they left for Japan in 2008. Little did they know that their old stomping grounds would the object of an archeological expedition in 2016.
This should not be happening. The actual Old Fort Boise was now in the middle of the Snake River. It had been a terrible location. Flooded every spring and indefensible For those very reasons it had been abandoned.
And became the new home of Inuyasha and Kagome. It hadbeen their base from 1855-2008. A place that no one wanted. No one knew they were there. Idaho Power owned it until 1956 when they deeded it to the State of Idaho for the Old Fort Boise Wildlife Management Area
They dismantled their home before they left. Theoretically their should be nothing for the archeologists to find, but Kagome was taking no chances Who knew what the volunteer diggers for Boise State might find if left to their own devices.
So Inuyasha and Kagome volunteered to dig. The hanyou swore as used a trowel to carefully uncover history under the watchful eyes of the professors. He would prefer to use his claws to dig. None of this namby pamby stuff for him.
While the professors were entertained by the dog-like antics of her husband, Kagome headed to the actual site of their old house. She was pleased that the barrier was still there after all these years. Miroku and Kaede had done a good job in teaching her the basics.
Gazing up at the fruit trees she remembered many summers she canned peaches until the boys would not eat them any more. She wondered if any of those cans survived tot he present day That was impossible They were careful to dismantle all evidence of their existence before leaving.
Suddenly she remembered the garbage dump. Could the boys have been so careless as dump things there before they left. She had to find out. the garbage dump was easy to find One hundred fifty years of garbage was hard to get rind of.
Inuyasha loped over to where she was standing. The academics must have tired of him and fired him. He looked at her quizzically She was holding a can of peaches which had been discarded by the boys in their haste to get out of Idaho and go home to Japan.
"What do you want me to do about it?" he asked
"You were supposed to get rid of it"
Inuyasha sighed One hundred fifty years of history vanished in five fingers of flame leaving a puzzle for Boise State and the State of Idaho to wonder about. the final report said that the site had spontaneously combusted,but that just meant that they did not know why that area suddenly burst into flame.
