I am in love with Uther. Madly, madly in love.
Poor Uther doesn't get enough love from the Merlin fandom, but MY GOD does he get a lot from me. You all can have Pretty Boy Arthur and Adorkable Merlin, I want me some Sexy Beast Uther. Seriously, he's so... overbearing and brimming with violence. I LOVE HIM!!! He could snap your neck at any second and you would NEVER KNOW WHEN HE'LL STRIKE! But at the same time he has SO MUCH love in his heart and he has NO CLUE how to show it. Oh, Uther. I love you. Please stay slightly sociopathic forever. Also, I continue to have naughty, naughty thoughts about Uther/Morgana. And it is so screwed up. So very screwed up. BUT I DON'T CARE! There is an intensity between them that cannot be ignored. Normally I'm all about the Merlin/Arthur, but they barely shared any scenes together in this ep, and yet this is probably one of my favorite eps, which proves that all the characters on this show are kickass awesome. Of course, there was a ton of Uther/Morgana, and for me, that's always a good thing. Because, you know, I love intensity, and they have that in spades.

Morgana sits at the other head of the table. In the Queen's rightful place. MORGANA IS HIS QUEEN! DON'T EVEN TRY TO DENY IT UTHER, YOU DOG!
Eye sex. While they eat without Arthur. BECAUSE THEY DO NOT WANT TO BE INTERRUPTED DURING THEIR INAPPROPRIATE FOREPLAY! Unfortunately, Arthur interrupts them anyway. Luckily, Arthur is too pretty for me to be mad at him.
Strangulation = I LOVE YOU!!! in Uther speak. Seriously. It does. Just like for Arthur "I love you" = a punch on the shoulder (or a slap upside the head, or literally sweeping you off your feet).
Uther is flabbergasted over the fact that Arthur sees right through him and knows that he hates being on Morgana's bad side, and of course Uther denies this and is all "Her? Forgive me? Do you even have a brain in that pretty head of yours? SHE BETRAYED ME! ARRRRRGH! IF NOT FOR HER FATHER SHE'D BE DEAD RIGHT NOW! ARRRGH! SHUT UP! I DO NOT LOVE HER! SHUT UP I SAY!" And Arthur is all "Pssh, whatever Pops. Make up with Mummy please. Now."
And then Morgana embraces her manipulative powers and her utter gorgeousness by giving Uther the most fake apology in existence. And Uther totally buys it because he's in looooooooove.
And Morgana thinks he's a pushover. Which he is when it comes to Morgana. Because he's in looooooooove with her. Inappropriately. And Morgana is eating her pride all in order to save this creepy kid:
Who only talks to people inside their heads. It's creepy. Really really creepy. But Morgana feels a bond with him more intense than she has with anyone else. For no apparent reason. Anyway, the boy escapes while Uther and Morgana are having their make up dinner.
And all of a sudden Morgana figures out that Uther is more perceptive than she gives him credit for when he hears that the creepy kid has escaped.
And the fiery intensity is back.
And Uther basically threatens to kill her if he finds proof that she was involved in any way because his heart cannot bear to be betrayed by her more than once. And he leaves in a huff.
And we see a glimpse of Evil Sorceress To Be Morgana, because she can't bear to be rejected and threatened by Uther. And she can't stand his insecurities. Basically that face is saying, "Oh, it is ON, SUCKA!"
