I know I only have 2 Jack/Liz shippers on my F-list, but come on 30 Rock fans, hear me out. I was watching My Fair Lady last night for about the billionth time and as I was watching I couldn't help but say, "Oh, this is so Jack and Liz." I'm sure the comparison has been made before. Maybe. Surely I can't be the only one to see the similarities? Now, Liz is nowhere near as childlike as Eliza originally is, but when she first meets Jack she's slightly fascinated by him, but at the same time she clashes with him, same as Eliza with Henry. Henry is intrigued by Eliza, sees her potential, knows he can change her for the better, taunts her with this, and then acts like he doesn't care when she shows no interest, same as Jack with Liz. Then Eliza realizes that she wants to improve her life, as does Liz, and she seeks out Henry's guidance, as does Liz with Jack. Henry throws all kinds of insults at Eliza along with some backhanded compliments and this angers Eliza, and Jack does the same thing with Liz. They constantly bicker with each other, but they end up depending on each other too, same as Jack and Liz. Henry always paints himself as a noble hero, as does Jack. In the end, Eliza transforms into the graceful woman that Henry had said she would, and she realizes that she can get by without Henry, that her whole world shouldn't revolve around him. And he tells her that she's magnificent. And she leaves him. And he's devastated but tries to deny it, but then he comes to terms with the fact that he "grew accustomed to her face." She became a part of his soul and he felt empty without her. And they were parted for no more than ten minutes when she comes back to him, and all is right with the world again. They know that by society's standards (and their own ideals) that they are wrong for each other, but they can't bear to part from each other. Am I crazy for thinking this is how Jack and Liz will be by the end of 30 Rock? I can totally picture a My Fair Lady ending for them. The similarities are so incredibly huge that I just can't see it ending any other way. I know I'm setting myself up for heartbreak, but come on Tina Fey! Liz is Eliza and Jack is Henry and you know it! They will never be able to part from each other. NEVER!
