an interior rip out though would be so fun to do, it's always the last thing you want to do but with it already up a stage you could just tune, and leave the engine for a while and do the interior, and just do whatever you wanted, sparco seats in the right color, new carpet and instrument panels. And such.

"Renting in LA online doesnt seem like its going to happen."

do you mean finding a place to rent online? do you suggest finding a neighborhood, then driving around like it seems like you're doing?

Are you going to be renting? Craiglist is a good way to go. Its been harder for me becuase of the dog situation.
What I meant by that statement is that there aren't alot of complexes large enough here to have websites. So driving around and looking at vacancy signs in some areas is a better bet.

sorry I didnt respond to this!

southbay as in torrance, manhattan beach, redondo beach? its more suburb but it can work.
the trick is the 405. that thing is bumper to bumper most of the time. so if you are relying on it to get you where you want to go south bay is not a good idea.
santa monica is cool, culver city is cool (obviously), silver lake is great. I havent checked out Highland Park or Echo Park (NE of downtown). Both of these areas were run down when I lived in Pasadena years ago. However I have heard they are up and coming with young hipsters and their stores and foods. A couple of live bands I wanted to see were playing at venue over there so it confirms there some kind of music thing going on.

I really hope you get the FD, and the date :)

Myself, I'm always a bit worried about pre-modified cars. I know that anyone who might buy my car will have a really hard time figuring out everything that I've done with it. Interior rework can be a pain. My car is in desperate need of some cleaning up inside. Hopefully the FD is in better shape than mine is.

I loved Grindhouse. While watching the second one I kept thinking, wow, Rosario Dawson looks cute with that hair cut. Then the driving started and it was love. I think I'm now an official Zoe Bell fan! Not much else to say about that :)

Ya, with the gadgets I felt like I was getting a popquiz for a 12th grade test and I was still in 11th. Hehe.

Good luck finding a place to live.

Ah, finally somebody else saw "Grindhouse" and it happened to be the one gal that I thought would dig "Death Proof". Loved the car chase sequence--just insane. At one moment I thought, I wonder if anybody else is pretty floored and turned to my right and the guy sitting 3 seats over is literally on the edge of his seat. That's cool.

you know i was talking about this film today. the discussion was sexism, and while true this film is representing a genre that exploited that, I didnt feel disgusted or objectified. I think Tarantino (more so than rodriguez) does a great job of making his actresses seem in control of the sexualtiy they are displaying on screen. To me it then seems like less of some free peep show and more about her controlling her actions to get what she wants or settle a bet.

Tarantino's last flicks have females in central roles: Jackie Brown, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Death Proof. The gals in Death Proof come across normal gals I would hang out with (or at least would like to). I dug that Rosario Dawson's character went from being the good girl that got to play with the cool kids. Zoe Bell really stands out as the action star, but her personality separates her from the typical amped up action star that just seems phoney.
