Well, considering Harmonix hasn't really done anything that wasn't done by Konami first, and they've managed to continue putting out quality music games despite being a large corporation (hell, the FOURTEENTH version of Guitar Freaks came out in the arcade while I was in Japan this month), I wouldn't worry too much about it.

As for consoles, I seem to have had the conversation recently a lot about whether or not one buys one, and in my opinion, you buy a console when there is a critical mass of games for it, and only it, that you absolutely have to be able to play. I bought a Japanese PS1 about six years ago just to play DDR, after all, though I still haven't been able to justify a Nintendo DS or anything along those lines...

Personally, I'm slightly more worried about Karaoke Revolution, which co-branded its last version with Country Music Television, and is co-branding the next one with American Idol (yech). I'm still holding out for "Karaoke Revolution: The 80s," but they'd probably have to co-brand with VH1 for that.
