Hey, are those your videos? The last few seconds of the first one cracked me up.
And funny that you should mention it today, since I just dug up my old copy of Tony Hawk 3 the other day, ostensibly to show my son what skateboarding and snowboarding look like (because the YouTube videos are too grainy). I quickly realized that holding up a Tony Hawk game as an example of skateboarding is like holding up Mortal Kombat as an example of martial arts. Didn't stop me from playing a few levels, though, and my hard-won reflexes are still there. I agree that the "extreeem"-ness ruins the experience -- I rented a wakeboarding game, and an inline-skating game, once upon a time, and they were both just more of the same, so I didn't play them much.
They are indeed. It was a clever feature they included allowing players to upload up to (I think) three videos and six screenshots. A nice way to capture a moment and share it with friends.
I'll confess that I had the idea for this post before I had the video. The ending to that bail was just a happy accident and got me to go through with it.
Not only has Tony gotten more extreme with each iteration, but by mingling it with the likes of Bam, it is stylistically over the top as well.
skate. is lower key, but is still an improvement in my book.
