I just want to whimper a bit...

Been gross/sick for the past week now, but we literally CANNOT AFFORD for me not to go to work.  So I've been working, going to class, working some more.  Never a day off to just recover.

And watching the back account like a hawk, because if everyone cashes the checks I've had to write before one of us gets a paycheck ( Read more... )

money, school/work

I think it's called FAFSA. The student loan service through the government. I used it all three years of law school. It might be too late for next semester, but it's worth checking out.

If not it's worth going to a bank and getting a loan that way. But I'm not very knowledgeable about this stuff.

Agree with FAFSA, although it may very well be too late to quality for this school year. And I'm not sure if they would look favorably on Lindsy' income (which is pretty high, right)? And scholarships-did they not give you the chance to audition or apply for any? Although some scholarships require you take x amount of hours or something.

That, and student loans. Yes, you have to bend over and take it in the arse, and yes, the college funding system is controlled by greedy loan people and so forth (Ben and I have had similar convos, he's half-German and hates hates hates the idea of going into debt, especially for SFA, he rails against the American capitalist debt system). But it's better than nothing. And you can afford the debt, at least, because you have no undergrad debt (which is incredibly freakin' rare, in my experience). But yes, it sucks. But it's still the best kind of debt to have, cause it's a good debt. That reminds me, I think I have a loan payment due...
