1. When he was younger, Garth was left behind out in the open water for several days. It was during this time that Aqualad's ability to communicate with animals was triggered - in this continuity, it's an ability that appears in 1 out of 5 Atlantean/Idyllist children.
2. His best friends growing up were Tramm and Gill Girl (which is actually an English approximation of what her actual name is), which were members of two distinct species of marine humanoids.
3. Aqualad regards marine animals on the same level as he does most people; he doesn't feel the same way towards most land animals because he's never talked to any, and this somewhat bothers him. He doesn't attempt to try because he's worried about being called out on his hypocrisy. Other Atlanteans do still eat fish and other marine life no matter he complains about it.
4. Aqualad's favorite traditional Atlantean dish is Steamed kelp with Aquatic Bean Paste, the latter being an Atlantean cultivated plant that simulates the taste of meat.
5. Aqualad has adapted to eating surface food quite readily, as it's easy to get, on account he doesn't have to work for it. Before joining the Titans, he often intendedto go ashore to get fast food.
6. Aqualad goes crazy about the taste of pop tarts, as the Atlantean environment does not allow them to create breaded foods or grow fruit. He can barely control himself around them, much to his own chagrin. Strangely enough, he does not feel the same way about blueberry waffles.
7. Heaven help us if he ever decides to try strawberry shortcake.
8. Aqualad had a similar reaction to soda when he first had it; he's since quieted down about that. His favorite kind is grape soda.
9. When he first went on dry land, he got "surface sickness"; it took him two months before he could walk on land without getting sick. No one knows about this except Tramm.
10. Before joining the Titans, Tramm was pretty much Aqualad's go-to-guy for anything he might need; when he found out he couldn't swim fast enough to catch up to some of his enemies, he had Tramm create a makeshift jet-ski for him.
11. Aqualad actually has his own "rogues gallery", but he hasn't seen them much since joining the Titans; they included two mutants named Scylla and Charybdis, the XL Terrestrial (who was seen in the show), and of course, Trident.
12. In order to earn some spending money on land, Aqualad got a job at a restaurant - he quit five seconds after learning there was a fish sandqwhich on the menu.
13. Aqualad never made any effort to hide his identity, as he had no reason to protect it. He encouraged the spreading of his name in hopes it would give him better support when he tried to improve relations between Atlantis and the surface world.
14. He was approached for a movie deal; this never actually got off the ground.
15. He never tells anyone that he knows the so-called Aquaman personally, other than his teammates, and tells the media he's not sure who it is - the name Aquaman was created in response to their similar modus operandi.
16. Prior to being taken in as Aquaman's "sidekick", Garth was a young member of the Atlantean Legion; he is skilled in the use of a spear and a sword.
17. He's terrified of a place called "the Hidden Valley", which is in reality the former capital of the Idyllist kingdom; this is due to his repressed memories of the war there.
18. Aqualad can telepathically communicate with aliens, but it triggers an involuntary mental reaction that, in his case, brings old memories up to the surface - in other Atlanteans with this ability, it would simply cause mental pain.
19. Aqualad believes Aquaman is a stubborn, overly-aggressive old man, but still respects him. They argued a great deal before Aqualad left Atlantis.
20. Aqualad was trained in the use of his water powers by the Atlantean elders (who were also all survivors of the Idyllist War). His childhood was filled with a LOT of training, which is what lends to his disciplined, calm, and serious way of approaching things.
21. This, however, is also why he's prone to not bothering people when he may have a problem; he believes that since he's gone through all that, he has to be the one to support everyone else.
22. Aqualad's favorite movie is Hunt for the Red October; he's never read the book, however.
23. He hates and absolutely refuses to watch the movie The Little Mermaid a second time.
24. He generally likes Pirates of the Carribean, but he doesn't enjoy people asking him about his opinion of it.
25. He spends about 45 minutes a day on his hair, but don't tell anyone about that.
