Aqualad, or simply Garth as he was going by at the time, stood looking over a railing at Jump's waterfront. He had been living near the docks for some time now, and had come to take one last look at the sunset ( Read more... )

Silvermane was at the docks picking up supplies. Some of the equipment that she'd ordered for weather surveillance world-wide had to be shipped. In order to get it back to the Dragons' mansion in Jump, she'd asked for everything to be loaded into boxes with a metal cage on the outside of each. With her powers, she could move them all the way back to the mansion, as odd as it would look. It beat the additional and rather high shipping fees she'd have to pay just to have them hauled from the docks to the mansion.

Everything was in order, so she turned her attention to the sunset...and she saw a silhouette that looked familiar. Moving closer, she finally came up beside Aqualad, who seemed lost in his thoughts.

"A-aqualad?" she asked quietly. "Um...I'm n-not interrupting anything, am I?"

Aqualad nearly jumped when he heard Silvermane's voice. He wheeled around to face her, and attempted to look calm.

"Ah, uhm, Silvermane," he said. "No, I'm just... watching the sun go down."

"I-it's pretty, isn't it?" she remarked. "Me...I'm h-here because there's a very important shipment I have to pick up. T-they're just unloading it from the boat over there."

The best way to try to make him comfortable was to do her best to talk to him normally. If he wanted to talk about the situation with Slizzath, he'd bring it up in his own way.

"I... I see," he replied. "What... what kind of shipment?"

He took a deep breath, trying to ease up. He was suddenly very curious about why she was willing to talk to him.
