last week I didn't...

but I did help a friend move the night before... and couldn't get to sleep afterwards. Finally managed a nap from about 6am-9am... it ended up being a rather difficult day.

Hi... I don't think I have your e-mail address, so I'm spamming your journal.

We need to invest in a pair of turntables for our loft, as we plan on hosting regular events there and we want to be able to invite DJs and offer them a reasonable setup.

I don't know anything about DJ decks, so I thought I'd ask the opinion of an expert.

Does that sound like a good deal? Would we be better off just going to Moog and buying something brand new?

It doesn't need to be top-of-the-line quality, but I also don't want DJs to be insulted if they have to use shitty equipment.

SL 1200s are pretty much the workhorses of the industry... the MKIIs were the standard for 20+ years... some people DJs prefer the new models that have come out in the last few years, but pretty much every DJ out there that uses vinyl has used 1200s...

If they are in great condition then it sounds like a decent deal... but I'd recommend you try before you buy and make sure there's nothing wrong with them.
