When I was teaching last summer and staying with my family a couple nights a week, I would get to read their newspaper. I clipped a lot of articles as potential fodder for my students' critical thinking skills, but I clipped a lot of cartoons too

... I don't mean because it's a "reality check" or anything. Well, I sort of do, but only a reality check to remind you that people think like that. In that way, it's a tough pill to swallow.
