Easter and DTYD

Dec 04, 2005 16:38

If you don't remember, DTYD is my floor's annual big party. It's been going on for a long time ["forever", which I think means mid-seventies], and it's something most bombers look forward to. It is always held the Sunday of Patriot's Day weekend, the 4 day weekend in April that apparenlty was just made up by Boston so we don't have to go to school ( Read more... )

We didn't just make it up, we started a war and kicked England the fuck out just so we didn't have to go to school.

I already said this a bunch of times, but I feel the need to emphasize that I'd really love you to stay with me for Easter. I know you want to go home, but if you're going home for spring break, do you really want to go home again just a few weeks later (when flights are going to be LOTS more expensive), and for just a couple days? I'm sure your family will understand. ...Really, there's a lot more to this than just staying in Boston to drink and party.

And if it bothers you that much, I'll make you lamb on Saturday night.

Stay and party. God's okay with drinking on Easter. Boston is all about partying, too; don't believe otherwise.

I'd say go home, if it's not going to cost a ton of money. I'm probably saying that because right now going home is the one thing I'm holding out for (in like 20 days!) but we do spend every day at MIT and maybe only a summer at home.

yeah, its quite expensive to go home.
I'm pretty sure Tim and I are going to go to my house for spring break and then i'm going to his house for easter. I still feel bad not being home for easter... but its not worth it to go home for 2 days.

You could always invite your parents to spend the weekend and Easter at Tim's house. I know his parents would enjoy having them at their house and that would solve all your problems.

Thanks anonymous person!
I will ask, but one of the main issues for me not going home was the price of airfare, and if it's too expensive for me, then it's going to be twice as expensive for two people. My parents are whiny and don't like to drive, but I'll ask and beg.
