The alley behind the live house wasn’t brightly lit, but Uruha had no problem recognizing the hunched down figure near the very end. His bleached hair a speck of yellow against the darkness of the night.

"It wasn’t that bad." He sat on the step next to Reita, cringing at the feeling of wetness soaking right through his skirt.

"Of course it was. There hardly was a song I haven’t messed up."

Uruha had to silently agree. It was quite horrible.

"Ruki is probably pissed as hell."

Uruha sighed. It was true, Ruki was pretty miffed.

"She texted me just before we started. Said we’re breaking up."

Uruha should have guessed it had something to do with her. "She was a bitch anyway."

"No, she wasn’t."

"Yes, she was." Reita was just too sweet for his own good, she was quite cruel. "Even Aoi noticed."

"Even if she was, and I am not saying she was, that is not the point. It is me. I am just not good with girls. I don’t know what I am doing wrong. I try... It is just... Sometimes I really fear I’ll never find anyone."

"Hey!" Uruha didn’t like the way Reita was talking about this. This wasn’t like him at all. He was always optimistic, at moments even annoyingly so. "Don’t talk like that."

He nudged Reita with his shoulder, making him sway almost lifelessly. "In the worst case I can be your girlfriend." He grinned. "And look at me," he pointed at his stage outfit, short top, exposing his belly, mini skirt and fishnet stockings, he got (stole) from his older sister, knee high boots, "if you ask me worst case doesn’t look bad at all. I bet I have better legs than half the girls you’ve dated."

"Does your arrogance know no bounds?" Reita punched him playfully in the shoulder.

"Ouch." Uruha rubbed his shoulder. "You are so mean, I was just trying to cheer you up."

"I know." Reita sighed, before pulling Uruha into a hug. "Thank you."

"I really mean it." Uruha’s voice was muffled against Reita’s shoulder. "I’ll always be there for you."

"Oh, really?" Reita chuckled to help ease tightening feeling around his heart.

"Why else would I be sitting here, freezing my ass off."

A lonely light bulb, flickered one last time before the alley was plunged into darkness.

"Look at the stars. Look how they shine..." Reita suddenly noticed, letting Uruha extract himself from his hug, but keeping one arm draped loosely around his shoulder, both tilting their heads towards the sky, slow rain drizzling against their faces, washing away everything, their troubles and worries, their mascaras and rouge. Everything. Except their smiles.

AN: Written this for Josie, while listening to Coldplay's Yellow (italics are the song lyrics). Didn't turn out so well. I feel like something is missing to make this feel right.
