So i'm here in the Florida Keys sitting in a pizza restauruant waiting for my Calzone.
I hoped there would be an access point around here that i could leach off of but there's not :T. There is a bum like man here playing good classic folky rock songs so I guess he'll suffice.

The flight in was interesting. I haven't been to Florida in like 10 years, and that was way up near the top at Destin. I haven't flown in a plane in like 15 years :O. It was a bit unnerving when we first took off. It was kind of fascinating to watch the buildings get smaller and smaller until they turned into a giant grid like I was staring at the face of a map or a sattelite picture. We flew just above the clouds and it was really beautiful, I wanted to take a picture but my camera was in the overhead. *ahem* Re-attaching my balls... Mauvis and Jen dropped me off at the airport at around 9:20am, I took a really narrow (3 seats accross) continental jet to Newark. Then from there I went to Tampa florida on a much bigger jet. Then from there I took this really small propellar plane to key West. I napped on all 3 flights because I only had half an hour of sleep, working on a stupid contemporary art paper :-o.

My calzone just came, man its huge, about from my risk to my elbow in size. To bad I didn't specify toppings so its just a giant mozorella LOG. Its bleeding cheese.

Anywho, Sara (the girl who's wedding i'm photographing) and her husband-to-be picked me up from the airport. They booked me at this Youth Hospice? place, its kinda rundown looking, but i have my own room rented out, and I can rent a bike from them to travel. They showed me around keywest. Did you know keywest is the southern most point in the US? I saw Jimmy Buffet's Bar, and we went to the beach where they'll be having their wedding and I set up some test shots and planned some stuff. I'm nervous about shooting, its on the beach at sunset tomorrow and I have to use fillflash to get a decent exposure of bride-and-groom and sunset, and blah blah. What if my batteries die or all my pictures turn out crappy? It wasn't my idea though, they contacted me, and tho I'm not getting paid, they paid for my plane ticket and my Motel and I get a free trip to the Florida Keys.

Its been interesting. This place reminds me of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City a bit. Lots of fancy cars and palm trees. Lots of old people too though, because isn't Florida where old people go when they retire? I'll be doing a lot of walking this weekend, i'll have Sunday all day to explore if I get done with my Flash project for Jason's (I have to present it at a final critique the minute I get back Monday). Maybe i'll work on it at the beach with my toes in the sand heh.

It's lonely here. I've never been 100's of miles away from EVERyONE i know and EVERYtHING thats familiar to me. It reminds me of that movie Lost in Translation, excpept without the whole weekend fling with someone who could be my grandaughter thing. It would be awesome of Jen was here with me. It's like going to an amusement park by yourself, thats no fun.

Its getting dark now and I feel a little nauseous from all that cheese. I think i'll walk around looking for an access point and go study some beach wedding photography online. Then go to sleep if I can find my way "home". I'm tired.

So I walk down less then a block and BAM, 802.11G :D. Im sitting on a street corner. I go do internet stuffy now.
