So, the laptop that I ordered on Jan 8th and received on Jan 24th was faulty -- it had the fairly common laptop issue of not resuming sound after a suspend cycle at the beginning, and the occasional crash at the start, which forced me to deal with CPPC's tech support (three hours' wait on hold, with the occasional random disconnect). I have! He just shoots rubber bands back at me and laughs when I'm surprised by this.

... also, the fact that he kept all the pennies I threw at him and was gleefully exclaiming over the fact that most of them are older than I am was sort of a put-off of throwing anything more at him.

... Did he like collect up bits your hair too and make a shrine with the pennies? If so, he's on a level of creepiness that I can't match. :(

Not creepy put-off. Just that it's like throwing something at someone and having them go, 'Oh, this is exactly what I wanted, thank you! :D'

Yes, but it feels so very girly and manipulative to cry about it. I mean, really.

It was sort of amusing at the end, because he read the comments left in the file from the previous people I'd talked to. Apparently I terrified a few of them. :(

I have no idea. I had to deal with them again yesterday when a new person said the deadline they'd set was impossible to meet. It was worked out, though -- if they can't get mine working, they'll just toss the HD from it into a completely new system and ship that out today so it'll arrive Monday (s'posedly).

If it doesn't, well, I get a refund.
