Stopped after nine hours or so of driving in Wolf Point. Still not out of Montana yet, but the state is huge. Didn't want to keep driving when I wasn't sure that there would be a hotel with wifi within an hour's drive (as my cut-off point was 11pm

When I was driving with Alex, I found that she would complain for a ridiculous length of time-- maybe an hour? I finally just drowned her out with music every morning. After that, she'd settle into boredom and sleep, until I took a rest break. She liked using her box as I was on the entrance ramp back onto the freeway, naturally, which meant a miserable time until the next exit, too. Ultimately, traveling with an unsedated Alex wasn't that bad. YMMV, of course, and literally so. :D

I used to travel with her when she was still half-grown, and she actually liked cars then. She was unsedated. Today she calmed down mostly when I finally put her in her cage for an hour or so -- she fell asleep for a while, then woke up and spazzed out at the back of it. c.c

We'll see how it goes. She doesn't know enough to try to fight the sedatives -- she just gets drunk.
