Andromeda sat with her arms curled around her legs on the window seat in the upstairs hall, her pregnant belly getting in the way a little. She looked out onto their back garden, their muggle back garden, she watched the roses as they swayed in the wind and saw a cat stalk along the back fence. She smiled gently, she remembered having a cat once, for the first few years of school, until her Aunt had declared the summer after 5th year that she was old enough to go to school on her own without Mr Tibbs. Andi had cried - in private - but she felt now that it had made her stronger, and at the time it had turned her Blacker, and she became more resilient to the world - until she had met Ted.
"Hey love, are you alright?" Ted asked as he touched Andi's shoulder gently, he stood next to her in his creased pj bottoms with his hair all tousled from sleep. she smiled up at him.
"I'm fine, I just can't sleep, I keep being woken up with the kicking, I think we have a livewire here." She said and patted her belly, Ted grinned at her and squished onto the seat next to her, he placed his hand over hers on her belly and kissed her neck.
"I love you, I really do Andi." He whispered, "I've never said this to you before, but I was afraid at one point that you wouldn't be able to say no to your family, and you would leave me for them." Ted slipped his other hand around her waist and continued, "I didn't think I deserved you, you swanned around school like you owned the place - you probably did, and yet you still chose me, the muggleborn."
"Shh Ted, I chose you didn't I, love is always going to win. Love beats evil everytime - I'll admit that I do miss my sisters sometimes, but they've moved on and started their own families as well. And I have you, you make me feel more alive than I ever did." She turned slightly to kiss him properly, her hand rested on his chin, one finger moving back and forth over the five o'clock shadow he had growing.
"I know, but I still wonder what it would have been like if it had been different. Would I have been alone? Or with Marlene?"
"Hush Ted, it's just us and baby now. You are happy with that, aren't you?" She asked with a worried glint in her eye.
"I've always enjoyed spending time with you." He pulled Andi closer to him, and let her rest her head on his shoulder, he noticed her eyes shutting and rocked her gently. "Don't worry," He whispered, "We'll get through this together."
