[There's a rarely seen Big Boss hanging around the hallways today. It seemed like everyone he used to know was gone during his long streak of absence, but, in all honesty, that was alright. There were still plenty of more people around; people who he could get to know, as well. Those kinds of things happened. People always come and go. It was ( Read more... )

...

[Huey froze when he spotted the much older version of the man he once knew. Could it possibly be...?]

Big Boss? Is that you?

[The man's voice calling his name caught his attention. He squinted an eye at him briefly, before realizing who it was.]

...Hello, Dr. Emmerich. Yes, it's me.

[Dr. Emmerich found himself staring a few seconds himself, breaking out of it to adjust his glasses.]

Sorry. You...

You look a lot older than I remember you looking.

[If the man standing before him really did die at that incident involving Outer Heaven, why did he look so old standing in front of Huey now? This didn't make any sense!]

Liquid.

[He looked his "son" over with that single eye of his, surprisingly nothing in his expression indicating any sort of hatred or hostility. Just a blank, tired look.]

No. I've been here for a long time. I rarely come out, so I thought today would be a good day to do so.

If you want to call getting a little... fresh air, in a sense, a special occasion, then yes.

[He gave Liquid a bit of a queer look. He could sense that anger attempting to worm its way up to the surface, although it wasn't quite succeeding just yet. He was relatively surprised that he hadn't been jabbed in the jaw already.]

[After that strange room that had left him feeling like Rambo for the past few days, Dimitri was more than a little eager to just have a walk with Nadezhda. The husky was about as perky as ever, and he suspected that trait would not be one she'd grow out of.]

[And then she decided to walk him and see who this interesting new person was. His scent reminded her of her master's books, you see, and she wanted to determine if he was friendly.]

Nadezhda! Heel! [The psychic growled lowly, but he eventually gave up on trying to reel her in in favor of better damage control.]

[This Big Boss certainly wasn't new, but he might as well have been, as he hadn't been around in so very long. He blinked once he saw what was most certainly Psycho Mantis walking a dog, which was an odd site. He raised an eyebrow, but he remained quiet, waiting for the psychic to approach completely.]

[Luckily, the husky was apt to obey commands as she learned them, and she stopped just a few feet away from Big Boss. Dimitri was less than pleased at her impulsiveness, and gave the dog a light flick behind the ear. Nadezhda made no protest at the admonition. Her tail dusted the floor as she sat upon her haunches.]

Mmm... [He hasn't met this particular Big Boss before, and he already assumed he was Mantis. Time to try and make a good first impression, starting with standing straight with squared shoulders.] It's...an honor to meet you. Big Boss. I know who you think I am, but I am not Mantis. My name is Dimitri. I am from before Foxhound.

[He listened to what the man had to say, just tilting his head a little as he explained what time he was from and all that.]

Ah. Hello, Dimitri. You don't have to be so... tense. Relax.
