i am awake too early on a day that k. and i agreed we would sleep in. the dog is always needy on the weekends, always curious about the days we don't rush out at dawn. i fed her at 4 am and just let her out, stumbling to pick up the paper as she sprinted after squirrels. i dropped the rest of the paper on the ground in order to get to the sports
