[Ignoring his companions seemingly fruitless efforts to remove the cuffs, Kyou preferred to satiate his hunger instead. Having woke up in a room that was NOT his own and with a GIRL no less...he had missed breakfast.]
I told you to drop that stupid 'san'. It's annoying.
[Attention back on the sandwich in his hands, he heard Amelia scream out yet another ineffective spell to release the locks. A flame of orange rushed in front of his face, the heat causing him to drop the sandwich like it was on fire--which...it now WAS.]
MY SANDWICH! I can't believe you just torched my sandwich! You could have KILLED me!
Amelia flailed frantically, sending sharp waves of action down the end of the chain. "Sorry!! I didn't mean to!!"
"EXT BALL!"
The small ball that appeared in the air was not water, but it absorbed the fire from the sandwich, sucking the flames sharply into itself before vanishing."
The girl's own face, hands, and clothes were a little blackened from the close impact of the spell. She didn't seem to notice, darting anxious eyes over Kyou. "You're okay?? It's not *supposed* to create fire, really! I'm not sure why . . ."
"Not...supposed..." he sighed, looking at his obviously NON flame-retardant pajamas before staring longingly at the now ruined sandwich.
"You owe me a sandwich...and a new shirt." he mumbled, picking up the package of potato chips that remained out of harms way before pulling them open. "I told you to leave well enough alone. A curse is a curse...there isn't a way to break it."
"Well, *sometimes* you can get out of a curse . . ." Amelia's back slumped a little. "It's hard to know until you try, isn't it? And Kyou-san didn't seem very happy, so I thought he'd want to go back if it were possible . . . Plus it's very hard to be stuck with someone all day, even if they're a nice person, isn't it?"
Her feet, bare, dangled forlornly, waving slowly back and forth through the air. "Plus sometimes they last even more than one day." She nudged her uneaten sandwich towards him. "Ne, though, I'm sorry."
