How do these things work?

Hello! I am typing with my scrubs on (I just got in from work) and my rollerblads on...haha. I don't intend on going anywhere, I just wanted them on. I've had these things for about 3 years and allll this time I thought they didn't fit. Hmm, my feet must have grown because they fit perfectly ( Read more... )

I can't help you with that one. I broke my left arm on rollerblades. And two years later, broke my right arm on rollerskates. Heh.

Good luck though! :o) I'd try again, but I'm a firm believer that if you keep falling off the horse, maybe the horse is telling you to get a bike.

Depending on the type of brake you either (a) lift your toes up so that just your heel (brake) has contact with the ground or (b) extend the foot witht he brake out further in front and the back of your ankle will push the brake down to the ground.

I suggest figuring this out before you venture outside! Maybe stand at your kitchen counter & try.

Turning is a combination of shifting weight &/or yes, lifting your foot (think of it as a way to burn more calories!)

6 miles is a pretty good workout. You may want to start with shorter distances though!

Good luck! Rollerblading can be tons of fun! :)

hehe you are so funny!!!!!

yeah one skate has a break and you lightly put it against the sidewalk to stop yourself. It can be tricky but how else would you stop yourself? :P When you turn, you kind of walk, but glide (obviously). You shift your weight from one side to the other as you do so, like you are pushing yourself along. So yeah, pick up your whole foot. So you take steps, one leg over the other. Imagine the speed skaters from the Olympics (did you watch?) When they go around the corners, they glide and very gracefully put one foot in front of the other just like walking, but more of at an angle (like the foot is crossing over the other).

I feel like dragging my rollerblades out now!!
