so today was productive. yesterday I did a lot of flat work with maverick. I tried to trot him through a grid of x poles, but he kept deeking out at the last second. I ended up just walking him through. This is a horse that can very easily jump higher than my head. sometimes his confidence is just really bad

OMIGOD I'M JELLUS! We need to have a maverick versus althea jump-off. Yeah! Our own fucking private olympics! YEAH BITCHES! We hand out bottles of expensive vodka instead of medals!

I jumped Ali over a cross rail the other day. First time she has ever jumped in her life. No problems.. I should try the grid thing, that's a good idea. Gotta start someplace.

HA! you horse would win. easily. sitting on her is like sitting on lit dynamite. I still have to figure out how to do that while I'm actually riding the horse. ha.

ya. the grid is great, they have nowhere to go and they have to figure out their own striding. Its a really great confidence builder. Its also fun as hell to watch.

I still can't believe he jumped it backwards. Thats fucking hard. Do a five foot vertical and then get it together in one stride to jump two feet, thats pretty impressive.

He also roars when he goes over them. its really cute.
