After reading the fantastic comments about the Sherlock pilot over at sherlockbbc, I really can't wait for my DVD to arrive :). Amazon says it's already dispatched...
I just realized yesterday that I could have downloaded it a week ago... the last two weeks where so busy at work that I criminally neclected my Sherlock obsession - this should never happen :)! Now, that I'm behind anyway, I'll just wait for the DVD to arrive...
I know, Moffat is a genius, isn't he? That was the reason I started watching Dr. Who in the first place - never seen any episodes except for the McGann TV movie (which I didn't care for that much). I'm working my way through backwards - started with season 5, then 2, 3, 4. I am now starting with Eccleston, although it is difficult for me to appreciate him as much as Tennant and Smith - he just feels as he didn't have that much fun with the part... Next up: a million episodes of old Who :).
I know I know! People keep telling me how great he was (many prefer him to Tennant, apparently), but I think I started the wrong way round and he is just too... macho? I love the fairy-tale-like quality of the Smith stories, or the sheer fun, energy and emotionality of Tennant-Doc - please don't hate me, but Eccleston seems so boring!
He's not macho, he's violent, because before Rose he hadn't met anyone who could make him smile and laugh and his burden was huge (although you don't know that to full extent until Tennant finishes his turn.) Promise me at least to watch "Dalek" because it's worth it.

And as for Dr Who - hurray, something new for us to share! (The new Sherlock is done by the same people as new Who, so it has a similar madcap feel.
