I'd be tempted to bring Virginia Woolf; adventures call for something civilised and feminine.

I have been meaning to read some more Virginia Woolf. I recently watched Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf (unrelated, I know), and what a strange strange movie. Elizabeth Taylor does such an extremely convincing banshee I could barely watch it.

Are we watching Fear and Loathing this weekend?

I've never seen it!

I suggested either that or one of your fascinating old things.

A sensation novel other than Lady Audley's Secret. Perhaps Basil or She.

Definitely not Lady Audley. I've spent enough time with her recently between a presentation and a paper. Tell me about these other two. Also, do you have a new kitty?
