I'm starting to feel all "I walked five miles to school uphill in the snow," but I practically did compared to the kids around here. School has been cancelled all over the metro Detroit area for the past two days for "cold." They were also cancelled a few weeks ago for "snow." Yeah, 0 degrees is cold, but honestly? I lived in Alaska for three years, and NEVER had a snow day. There were also bears and moose on campus that could of killed us, and there was a murder too. Yet, we still had to go to school.

I went to high school around here and they were notorious for never closing, even when they really should have. In some cases I swear they were just trying to make the other schools look like a bunch of pussies. I screamed out loud in my bathroom when I heard them announce Ypsilanti Public Schools were closed for COLD. In my day, that would have never happened. ::shakes cane::
