I got the chance to play a module of 4th edition for last few weeks with my regular DM and I have to say, I'm not very happy with it. Now, I am perfectly willing to accept that my pessimistic view is from a crappy module, or that my DM didn't interpret the mechanics as the creators intended. But, I'll let you know what was bothering me about it

But 4e has way more different types of rolls. Each attack has a unique modifier and damage. Many end up being the same, but each has an attack roll listed. In 3.5, a attack is an attack. All your melee uses the same modifiers UNLESS you specially chose a feat like weapon finesse, in which case, you chose it, it's not just a complicated class feature.
4e eats donkey shit.
