books 2007: Replay and A Clash of Kings

I forgot to update when I finished the first one. and I don't have the attention span to really write this up for some reason. Oh well.

Replay is by Ken Grimwood. The main character (I can't remember his name at the moment) is stuck in a pattern of "replays," in which he keeps returning to various points in his past and re-living experiences.

Martin's epic fantasy is a joy to read. I love that the author is able to manipulate me effortlessly. I determine to hate a certain character and love another, and Martin works his magic to make me feel empathy for the "bad" guy and begin to become frustrated with the "good" one. My only real complaint is that Mr. Martin isn't chained in a dungeon somewhere being forced to finish this next book!
