San Francisco!!

I have been living in San Francisco for the past two and a half months. This is the first time I have ever been outside Bangalore for so long and the first time I have ever lived by myself. Though I am missing home I am really enjoying my solitude. Lots of time for myself that I can't crib for a long time about the lack of it

I had exactly the same experience in Chicago!
But before you conclude that the West is more 'cultured' than the East, just replace 'Blr' by 'NY' in your post above and it will still make sense!

Yeah, I had been to LA. And that seemed more like Bangalore.

Yeah, LA is very much like home. Probably worse. I was once threatened by a man for accidentally conking his kid on the head with my elbow, on the bus. Heh, made me nostalgic for the fighting hordes on the BMTC :P

Yup, I didn't find it that way when I visited LA. My friend from NY who came to SF was also charmed by it

SFO = Airport

Many fresh off the boats make this mistake unwittingly and use SFO to indicate San Francisco

SFO is NOT San Francisco city

SFO = Airport miles away from SF City

You will never find locals saying SFO for SF. SF is just called "City"
