.. how expensive manual labour really is in the US till I bought a pair of jeans for $14 (on sale of course) and spent $16 to get it altered! How I missed my alteration-tailor in Jayanagar who would do it for 50 cents!

Does that work here? Don't think so. I kind of mentioned to the guy behind the counter that it's way too expensive, more than the cost of the jeans in fact and he said 'Yeah.. labor is expensive' or something like it
