I wish that I could say or do more to show how much this has meant to us. I am sorry that we couldn't be there to show our support. Both my physical and mental health have been rough this year as the disease has progressed quite a bit. Whenever I have a setback, I go into hiding until I find my pun-tastic humor

Like the picture says, Mel, you truly are an inspiration to all of us. It was an honor to race for you, and even though you couldn't be there physically, you were definitely with us in spirit!
